Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Snakes and Ladders 3D (“the game”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The game is published by PlaygenStudio (“we”, “us”). If you have questions, email [email protected].
Summary
- You can play as a guest without creating an account.
- If you create an account we store a display name you choose and a securely hashed password. We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
- We record gameplay data (dice rolls, moves, scores) and a device identifier to run the leaderboard and to detect cheating.
- The game has no advertising and no third-party analytics, and we do not sell your data.
- You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.
Information we collect
Account information (only if you create an account)
- Display name: the name you choose. It is shown publicly on the leaderboard.
- Password: stored only as a salted scrypt hash. We cannot see your password.
- Account dates: when the account was created and when you last signed in.
- Sign-in tokens: a random token that keeps you signed in. It is stored on your device, and only a hash of it is stored on our server. Tokens expire.
Device information
- Device identifier: the identifier Android provides to apps (Android ID), read through the Unity engine. It is used to link your matches together, keep leaderboard results fair and spot multiple accounts used for cheating.
- App version and platform, for example “0.1.0” and “Android”.
Gameplay information (guests and account holders)
- Each dice roll in a match: the face rolled, when the roll started and ended, re-rolls, and the tile before and after the move.
- The board layout of the match (positions of snakes and ladders).
- The match result: who won, number of moves, match duration and score.
Technical information
- When the game talks to our server, your IP address and request details are processed by our network provider and may appear in short-lived server logs. We use them only to operate and protect the service.
Stored only on your device
- Your sound and music settings, your sign-in token, and gameplay records that have not yet been uploaded (for example when you are offline).
How we use information
- To create and sign in to your account.
- To calculate scores and show the leaderboard and your stats (games, wins, win rate, rolls).
- To detect and prevent cheating, such as tampered dice results, impossible match times or multiple accounts, and to suspend accounts that break the rules.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and understand how the game performs.
We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it.
Sharing
We share information only as follows:
- Other players can see your display name and scores on the leaderboard.
- Service providers that host and protect our server: a cloud server (VPS) hosting provider and Cloudflare, which handles network traffic. They process data on our behalf and only to provide their service.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our players and our service.
The game is distributed through Google Play. Google’s own handling of data, for example for downloads and purchases, is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Security
Data sent between the game and our server is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, sign-in tokens are stored hashed, and access to the database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
How long we keep information
- Account information is kept while your account exists.
- Gameplay records are kept to maintain leaderboard history and anti-cheat checks. They are deleted together with your account.
- Guest gameplay records are not tied to a name. They are linked to the device identifier and can be deleted on request.
- Server logs are kept only for a short period.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all data linked to it at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes the account, its sign-in tokens, device links and every match recorded to it, including rolls and scores.
- In the game: main menu → DELETE ACCOUNT, then confirm with your password.
- On the web: dice-api.projectsdeck.com/delete-account, with your display name and password.
- By email if you forgot your password: write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my account” and your display name. We may ask you to confirm you own the account, and will delete it within 30 days. Guests can request deletion of their gameplay data the same way.
Your choices and rights
- Play as a guest instead of creating an account.
- Sign out at any time from the main menu.
- Delete your account yourself, in the game or on the web (see above).
- Ask for a copy of your data or a correction by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, UK or California, you may have further rights under local law. Contact us to use them.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game changes. The effective date at the top will change, and significant changes will be announced in the game or on its Google Play page.
